Native American Made Horsehair Pottery Vase
This wonderfully handcrafted Horsehair Vase is 7" across x 6 1/2" tall. A Zuni Bear is etched on one side and has etched feathers all the way around the vase.
The using of Horsehair in pottery is a way of honoring a favorite horse or celebrating the birth of one. There is a story of a maiden who was taking a piece of pottery from a kiln when her long hair fell across the piece of pottery which burned it into the pot. The Horsehair is applied during the firing process, by using a little or alot as well as where it is placed can
determine how your finished piece looks.
